My name is Eros Fiacconi. I live in Mississauga, Ontario, a large municipality west of Toronto. I was born in the Marche Region of Italy, but grew up in Sault Ste. Marie in Northern Ontario. The Sault (Soo) is the gateway to the splendors of Lake Superior and Algoma Country as well as the other Great Lakes which are nearby i.e. Lake Michigan and Lake Huron (North Channel). This beautiful area has influenced and continues to influence my subject matter and my appreciation of the great outdoor wilderness, not only here, but around the world. I return several times a year to visit family and to shoot the surrounding beauty.
Professional Background
I am a Professional Land Use and Develpment Planning Consultant. I began my career with the former Municipality of Etobicoke which is part of the amalgamated City of Toronto. I currently operate my own private practice which I have done for many years. Photography has been an integral part of my life since I was a youth. I have used it professionally in my work for evidentiary exhibits and for presentations and have contributed photographs for a professional sports web site; however, my photographic passion lies outside my professional realm and is focused primarily on landscape, travel, nature and architecture.
